Krystal Andrews, 22, was going to marry her high school sweetheart in 2016. She was a mother of two young children, described as a kind, loving and humble woman.
A family member says the day before she was found dead she had called her fiance to tell him she was on her way home from a friend’s place. She never made it home.
Krystal was found dead in an isolated area on God’s Lake First Nation on Nov. 9, 2015. In March 2018, RCMP arrested Michael William Okemow, 37, from God’s Lake Narrows.
He was charged with second-degree murder. His trial is ongoing. People in the community were angry that it took more than two years to charge Okemow.
